My Biographical Sketch of My Dad
Hi Everybody!
This is my biographical sketch assigned to me by my English book. I decided to do one about my Dad, so here it is.
Garry Raymond Jago
Born into a family who would later have 5 children, Garry Raymond Jago (1963 - ) was a very mischievous boy. His Dad had been a jockey, and had quite enjoyed boxing, so Garry boxed from childhood, winning titles including National Championship titles. This provided a good background for his later career in boxing.
When Garry was 15, he moved out and became an apprentice jockey. He spent a few years moving around as a jockey, then moved back home. Here he spent 3 years as an apprentice butcher. When a company approached him, he began to be a sales representative, a job that brought him to Auckland, where he met Tanya de Bruin; he was boarding at Tanya's parents' house.
After visiting the Commonwealth Games in 1990, Garry decided to start boxing again. He spent 4 years boxing, and won the Jameson belt once. During his boxing career, Garry married Tanya de Bruin in 1992.
In 1996 they had their first child, Bianca Marietta. Following were Jarrod Stephen (1999), Monique Stephanie (2001), Danielle Melissa (2003), Diana Denise (2005), Bryce Garry (2007), Maria Victoria (2010), and Laura Yvonne (2012).
Garry considers getting married and having a family his most important thing accomplished in life.
Note: All of our middle names are after our relatives. Marietta is Mum's middle name, Stephen was Dad's older brother who died in 1995, Stephanie was Nana's name, Melissa is Dad's sister's name, Denise is Mum's sister's name, Garry is Dad's name, Victoria is after Mum's sister-in-law, and Yvonne is after Mum's sister-in-law.
Hope y'all liked it!
